Cowlitz PUD is the local publicly owned power company for Cowlitz County. We are currently looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Accounting Team.

General Description:

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of the District’s financial operations. This position is responsible for maintaining essential accounting records, supporting financial reporting, and providing cross-functional support to the accounting team.

Experience, Working Conditions and Other Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minimum of five (5) years recent associated work experience performing accounting functions with specific experience in cost accounting, standard costs, payroll and general accounting.
  • Must have a working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures with strong bookkeeping and spreadsheet skills.
  • Experience working with integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience with electric utility accounting practices is preferred.

The work environment conditions described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Work is performed in the office Monday through Thursday 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. Remote work is not available for this position.

Pay: $91,979.00 - $133,385.00 per year
