Senior Accountant

Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met. Job Function:

• Prepare and ensure the accuracy and timely recording of monthly journal entries, verifying that entries agree to supporting documentation.
• Perform financial analyses and transactional reviews to identify unusual trends, variances, or unexpected balances.
• Produce various system and internal reports for management review and/or inclusion in account reconciliations and journal entries.
• Prepare various general ledger account reconciliations, account analyses, and supporting schedules, ensuring all reconciling items are adequately explained.
• Reviews cost reconciliation reports for possible inventory costing issues and aged payables.
• Record and track day-to-day transactions, including banking and payroll, to support accurate monthly reporting.
• Reconcile and review banking transactions, including cash deposits, incoming wires, and credit card activity.
• Prepare timely, complete and accurate quarterly and annual schedules, including analysis of accounts and explanations of significant or unusual changes or trends.
• Adheres to prescribed policies, procedures and internal controls
• Supports internal and external audits, and assists with SOX compliance activities, including maintaining control documentation, supporting control testing, and helping remediate control deficiencies.
• Interfaces regularly with others within the department as well as accounting, clerical and operations personnel in other locations, departments and constituents outside the company.
• Proactively identifies, recommends, and implements improvements to departmental processes to increase efficiency and accuracy through automation.
• Responsible for adhering to safety processes and protocols.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant Accounting experience preferred.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively required.
• Understanding of a broad range of Accounting concepts and principles required.
• Strong oral and written communication skills required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
• Ability to make sound decisions based on a combination of factors including analysis, knowledge and experience, and judgment required.
• High level of interpersonal skills and ability to initiate and maintain cooperative relationships with co-workers required.
• Strong computer proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft applications, particularly Microsoft Excel required

Compensation Range: The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $75,000.00/Yr. - USD $95,000.00/Yr. depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
