We are seeking a detail-oriented, qualified, and experienced Senior Accountant in Education Sector to join our Finance Department. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and a commitment to accuracy and compliance in financial reporting.

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic financial insights that drive informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Conduct detailed variance and trend analyses to provide meaningful insights to management.
- Develop financial forecasts, budgets, and performance reports to support strategic planning.
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of all financial data and reports.
2. Accounting Operations & Compliance
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Manage and maintain the general ledger, fixed asset register, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP), organizational policies, and local regulations.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
3. Systems, Controls & Process Improvement
- Develop, implement, and enhance accounting systems, internal controls, and financial workflows.
- Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency in accounting and reporting processes.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records to support transparency and accountability.
4. Financial Planning & Decision Support
- Provide financial analysis and decision-support insights to management for budgeting, cost control, and investment decisions.
- Support the preparation of financial models, project cost estimates, and funding proposals.
- Assist in strategic initiatives by offering analytical perspectives on financial performance and resource allocation.
5. Collaboration & Leadership
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between finance, operations, and administration.
- Support the Finance Manager or Director in special projects, audits, and financial reviews.
- Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, promoting a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Skills Required
Minimum Qualification Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Preferred Qualification:
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) and/or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience Required:
- At least 8-10 years of accounting experience in Education Sector, including hands-on work with general ledger, month-end/year-end close, financial statements, and reconciliations.
Technical & Soft Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, SAP, or similar ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
