Your Impact:
As an Avionics Technician at Jet Access, you are the technical expert responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing sophisticated avionics and electrical systems that keep our diverse fleet operating safely and reliably. Your precision work on communication, navigation, surveillance, and electrical generating systems directly ensures flight safety and operational excellence for every mission we fly.

Base Salary of $30.00-$50.00 per hour, paid bi-weekly
- Overtime pay for all hours over 40 hours per week

$6.00 per hour shift premium for 2nd shift

$2.00 per hour travel premium for AOG assignments

Where You Make Your Mark:
As an Avionics Technician at Jet Access, you'll ensure aircraft avionics systems operate flawlessly through expert technical work and precise troubleshooting. Here's what your role encompasses:
Avionics Installation & System Repair

Install, inspect, test, and repair avionics equipment and electronics including communication and navigation radios, transponder and DME systems, weather radar equipment, and autopilot systems

Troubleshoot and diagnose avionics systems to LRU or component level with methodical precision
-
Execute avionics installations and modifications according to manufacturer specifications and engineering drawings
-
Remove, disassemble, repair, and install replacement avionics components while testing systems for optimal performance
-
Perform intricate and highly reliable soldering on failed electrical components
Electrical Systems Maintenance & Testing

Work on electrical generating components that power communication, navigation, and surveillance systems
-
Utilize precision equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and specialized avionics test equipment
-
Organize ground support and test equipment for comprehensive ground tests
-
Analyze flight test data to diagnose malfunctions and study operations of electrical or avionics components
-
Ensure all avionics equipment works properly before take-off and does not interfere with any other electronic devices
Technical Documentation & Compliance

Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to properly troubleshoot aircraft systems

Sign off on accomplished work with proper documentation in company systems and regulatory compliance forms

Complete all avionics-related scheduled maintenance items with meticulous attention to detail
-
Build accurate customer invoices using labor calculations, purchase orders, and parts mark-up calculations
-
Maintain proper recording of all maintenance tasks on company documents
Quality Assurance & Safety Leadership

Maintain constant vigilance for safety protocols while ensuring work adheres to the highest quality standards
-
Verify proper and adequate equipment is used, acceptable parts or components are installed, and approved hardware or supplies are used
-
Monitor operations to reduce excessive labor costs and ensure efficient maintenance procedures
-
Coordinate with parts department for timely acquisition of avionics components and approved hardware
-
Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company quality standards in all avionics work
Continuous Improvement & Team Collaboration

Collaborate with maintenance team members to share technical knowledge and avionics best practices
-
Participate in ongoing training programs to stay current with evolving avionics technologies and regulations
-
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior technicians on avionics systems as needed
-
Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal teams regarding avionics maintenance status
-
Complete special projects and initiatives as needed, embracing opportunities to contribute to Jet Access's continued growth and success

What Will Make You Successful:
Required Skills & Experience

Current A&P License preferred

Minimum 5+ years of experience with diversified jet, turboprop, or piston aircraft maintenance in MRO environment
-
Demonstrated experience with avionics systems on multiple aircraft types
-
Previous work experience with aircraft electrical repair and with specific aircraft maintenance and repair manuals
-
Experience with avionics systems such as NAV/COM/PULSE, Autopilot, GPS, and RVSM
-
Proficiency operating all power tools and equipment necessary to accomplish avionics maintenance assignments
-
Strong working knowledge of aviation safety practices and avionics technology
-
Knowledge of basic arithmetic operations and basic electrical theory
-
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
-
Valid state driver's license and clean driving record
-
Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
-
Flexibility in scheduling to meet operational demands
-
Capability to read and respond to email communications effectively
-
Steady hands and excellent eyesight for precision soldering and detailed avionics work

Experience in customer service-focused maintenance facility performing avionics inspections and repairs

Advanced knowledge of modern glass cockpit systems and integrated avionics suites

Familiarity with multiple aircraft avionics configurations and manufacturer specifications

Experience with computerized maintenance tracking systems and avionics diagnostic software
-
Understanding of other aircraft systems such as hydraulics, flight control, and powerplant for integrated troubleshooting

Strong analytical, attention-to-detail, and problem-solving abilities with methodical troubleshooting approach

Excellent communication and teamwork skills for coordinating avionics installations
-
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with maintenance team members

Willingness to travel occasionally for avionics maintenance support at other locations or AOG situations
