Senior Azure Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Azure Specialist to lead the design, implementation, and administration of our cloud infrastructure and Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This role is essential for advancing our cloud transformation strategy and ensuring secure, scalable, and resilient IT operations.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT, with a strong background in Azure cloud services, Microsoft 365, enterprise security, and endpoint management. As a senior member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for driving best practices across Azure architecture, identity and access management, security operations, and compliance enforcement.

Key Responsibilities

Azure Cloud Infrastructure

  • Architect and manage Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments and Azure Virtual Machines (VMs).
  • Design and configure Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), Network Security Groups (NSGs), VPN gateways, and Load Balancers.
  • Manage Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates for infrastructure automation.
  • Administer Azure Site Recovery (ASR) and backup strategies.
  • Deploy and maintain Azure Storage solutions: Blob, Files, and Disk Storage.
  • Oversee Azure identity lifecycle management and Azure Sphere integrations.
  • Azure Backup and Recovery solutions, including planning and executing seamless migrations of workloads and data to Azure.

Cloud Security & Compliance

  • Implement Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Firewall, Azure DDoS Protection, and Azure Security Center.
  • Manage Azure Key Vault, Azure Policy, and Confidential Computing configurations.
  • Deploy Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM & SOAR) and integrate with other Microsoft Defender solutions.
  • Enforce Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) Conditional Access, PIM, and RBAC.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance using Microsoft Purview and Azure Information Protection (AIP).
  • Hands-on experience with industry-standard security frameworks and regulatory compliance standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, NIS, GRC, and HIPAA.

Microsoft 365 Platform

  • Manage Microsoft 365 workloads: Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, and Microsoft Defender.
  • Implement advanced compliance and data governance using Microsoft Purview and Compliance Center.
  • Monitor and maintain overall Microsoft 365 security posture.
  • Extensive experience in email, SharePoint, and OneDrive migrations, including cross-tenant migrations, Google Workspace (GCP) to Microsoft 365 (O365) migrations, and on-premises to Microsoft 365 transitions.

Endpoint & Device Management (Microsoft Intune)

  • Deploy and manage Device Compliance Policies, Configuration Profiles, and Endpoint Security Policies.
  • Lead implementation of Windows Autopilot, Co-Management, and BitLocker encryption.
  • Develop App Protection Policies, enforce Security Baselines, and manage PowerShell script deployments.
  • Integrate Conditional Access with Intune policies for secure device access.
  • Utilize Intune analytics, reporting, and Remote Help for endpoint support.
  • Implement Windows Update for Business and RBAC in Intune.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience in designing and administering Azure infrastructure, Microsoft cloud, and infrastructure security frameworks.
  • In-depth knowledge of Intune, Endpoint Manager, and modern device management strategies, and Cloud Adoption Technology Frameworks.
