Job Title: Senior Barista (Specialty Coffee)

Overview

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Senior Barista with strong knowledge of specialty coffee and a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a specialty café environment. The ideal candidate is dedicated to exceptional coffee preparation, guest satisfaction, and maintaining high standards across all café operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve high-quality specialty coffee beverages with precision and consistency (espresso, pour-over, immersion brews, signature drinks, etc.)
• Ensure proper calibration and daily maintenance of espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment.
• Lead and support junior baristas through training, guidance, and quality control.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and workflow efficiency behind the bar.
• Engage with customers professionally, providing knowledgeable recommendations about beans, brewing methods, and flavor profiles.
• Manage inventory of coffee beans, milk, and bar supplies; communicate needs to management.
• Monitor and uphold café service standards, including speed of service, drink quality, and presentation.
• Participate in cupping sessions and ongoing training to maintain deep product knowledge.
• Assist with creating new beverage recipes and contributing to menu development.
• Handle cash register operations and follow all café policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a barista in a specialty coffee shop.
• Strong understanding of specialty coffee from farm to cup, including processing methods, roast profiles, and flavor notes.
• Proficiency in espresso extraction, milk texturing, and manual brewing techniques.
• Excellent customer service skills and a welcoming, professional demeanor.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle peak-hour pressure.
