Job Title: Senior Barista (Specialty Coffee)
Overview
We are looking for a skilled and passionate Senior Barista with strong knowledge of specialty coffee and a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a specialty café environment. The ideal candidate is dedicated to exceptional coffee preparation, guest satisfaction, and maintaining high standards across all café operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve high-quality specialty coffee beverages with precision and consistency (espresso, pour-over, immersion brews, signature drinks, etc.)
- Ensure proper calibration and daily maintenance of espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment.
- Lead and support junior baristas through training, guidance, and quality control.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and workflow efficiency behind the bar.
- Engage with customers professionally, providing knowledgeable recommendations about beans, brewing methods, and flavor profiles.
- Manage inventory of coffee beans, milk, and bar supplies; communicate needs to management.
- Monitor and uphold café service standards, including speed of service, drink quality, and presentation.
- Participate in cupping sessions and ongoing training to maintain deep product knowledge.
- Assist with creating new beverage recipes and contributing to menu development.
- Handle cash register operations and follow all café policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a barista in a specialty coffee shop.
- Strong understanding of specialty coffee from farm to cup, including processing methods, roast profiles, and flavor notes.
- Proficiency in espresso extraction, milk texturing, and manual brewing techniques.
- Excellent customer service skills and a welcoming, professional demeanor.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle peak-hour pressure.
