Senior Commissioning Engineer – MEP Systems Team Lead (Client & Consultant Facing)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Sr Commissioning Engineer to lead, supervise, and hands-on manage the testing and commissioning of all MEP systems in a major GCC project. This is a hands-on and leadership role requiring coordination with clients, consultants, main contractors, and specialist vendors. The successful candidate will ensure high-quality commissioning processes, compliance with local authorities, and seamless handover of integrated systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the assigned commissioning team in testing and handover of MEP systems, including Electrical (LV), Mechanical, ELV, and BMS integration.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and specialist vendors during testing, inspections, and handovers.
• Mentor, guide, and train junior commissioning engineers and technicians.
• Document all testing results, prepare commissioning reports, and generate snag lists.
• Participate in Integrated System Testing (IST) and handover inspections.
• Prepare and review method statements, commissioning plans, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with UAE local authority standards (DEWA, ADDC, Civil Defense) and international standards such as NFPA, BS, and other applicable codes.
• Interpret technical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and system manuals accurately.
• Apply advanced technical knowledge in Electrical (LV), control, mechanical, and ELV systems to troubleshoot and resolve commissioning challenges.
• Adapt quickly to project-specific requirements and evolving technical standards.
• Travel as required to project sites locally and internationally.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, ELV, or related Engineering field (MOFA-attested UAE degree required).
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of leadership-level experience in testing and commissioning of MEP systems, preferably on UAE or GCC projects.
• Driving License: Valid UAE Driving License required.
• Language: Intermediate to advanced English; Turkish or Spanish is an advantage.
• Hands-on experience with integrated testing, sequential testing, BMS, and MEP system commissioning.
• Strong understanding of Electrical (LV), mechanical, ELV systems, and control systems.
• Familiarity with standards and regulations: NFPA, BS, local UAE codes.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and team management skills.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
• Immediate availability is preferred.
