Reports to: Manager Business Development

Main Objectives:

  • Business development focuses on the tail customers who are encouraged to use our digital products and services more than other segments.
  • Assist in boosting sales and forging strong relationships with clients by using persuasive approaches and proposals to convert potential clients into business customers.
  • Manage existing clients and ensure they stay satisfied and positive.
  • Serve as an incubator for sales talent, identifies business opportunities, negotiates and closes business deals and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
  • Bear clear understanding of hand over information to customer service and have the ability of handling quotations for onesies and twosies.

Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a commercial role, preferably in the maritime sector
  • Active knowledge of English “maritimeâ€� language
  • Active knowledge of MS Office
  • Comprehensive knowledge of FIS and other HL systems

Responsibilities

Function and Duties:

  • Promote the relevant online Quick quotes Web tool in the Area

  • Prepare volume/MR planning in Qlikview as per the set criteria.

  • Identify and qualify potential accounts, develop strategy to support sales team in landing and converting business.

  • Monitor performances of the accounts and ships utilization; develop and implement action plans to address potential shortfalls.

  • Identify potential new opportunities

  • Selectively engage in TM discussions on important matters (Online Web Tiers).

  • Ensure prescribed sales process (Compete to win) applied daily.

  • Conduct regular joint meetings with customer service.

  • Regularly review customer portfolios.

  • Ensure adherence to standard working processes as well as agreed quality and environmental standards is adhered to

  • Develop and maintain close contact with customers and other relevant parties at management level; develop contacts to potential new customers – influence outcome

  • Commercial follow up (EG quotations –pricing / free time approvals etc.)

  • Preparing rate quotations, filtering of rate request to ensure cargo identified and quoted is align to company aspirations and optimize vessel utilization in view of volume and profitability

  • Reviewing quotations on basis of contribution and imbalances aspects using FIS pre calculation.

  • Ensure close communication between departments and offices.

  • Maintain regular communication with management, other departments and offices concerning market developments, sales activity and competitors’ activities

  • Report market developments and competitors’ activities

  • Any other Sales related tasks as requested by the Management.
