Senior Credit Officer - SME North

JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE:

Evaluate / assess and recommend / approve credit workflows (credit applications and various credit approvals) submitted by SME including Islamic in-line with framework of internal & external regulatory framework.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To approve SME & Agri including Islamic relationships of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Jehlum, Gujrat, Mirpur, MAG, Mardan, Peshawar & GB Regions within the delegated approving authority in-line with Business targets, Prudential Regulations and Bank’s Credit Policy to ensure a quality portfolio for maximum return with minimum / mitigated risks.
  • To review and signoff SME including Islamic relations which are above the delegated approving authority.
  • To approve / review proposals for settlement / rescheduling / restructuring / write-off initiated by SAM / RAMU and requests for deferrals / deviations / exceptions / extensions as per credit approval authority.
  • To minimize turnaround time and also to minimize audit objections and CAD issues pertaining to policy and regulatory deviations. Engaging business segments for a collaborative approach to ensure an efficient approval process and quality asset portfolio.
  • To improve the quality of portfolio by forming views on sectors, providing input to determination of concentration of limits and determining appropriate exposure level on individual obligors.
  • Proactive monitoring of portfolio and implementation of required corrective measures. Attend / conduct relevant meetings / PMCs with stakeholders.
  • Assist / Support / Participate in team projects and initiatives, and also contribute value added input in the overall credit risk management portfolio.
  • Regular visits of existing and potential clients.
  • Improvement in performance of Credit Analysts and / or Senior Risk Analysts.
  • To provide on-going training and guidance to credit staff (Business / CAD).


QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Master degree in Business/Economics/Commerce/CA/ACCA/ACMA/CIMA.
  • Certification on Credit Risk assessment is preferable
  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience including Credit Risk Management for at least five years.
  • Good analytical skills and ability to think innovatively and strategic planning experience and capability.
  • Adequate knowledge of credit analysis, negotiation, structuring and maintenance.
  • Good understanding of the SME credit life cycle and key drivers of SME product performance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
  • Integrity, meritocracy, common sense and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
