Senior Internal Auditor

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Internal Auditor to oversee and execute risk-based internal audits across our real estate business operations. This role is crucial in ensuring financial, operational, and regulatory compliance, identifying internal control weaknesses, and recommending process improvements to support business integrity and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, lead, and execute internal audits across all business units including finance, operations, procurement, sales, and project sites.
  • Assess internal controls, business processes, and risk management frameworks.
  • Review and verify financial records, real estate transactions, lease agreements, and project cost allocations.
  • Conduct audits on compliance with statutory requirements (GST, RERA, TDS, etc.).
  • Identify fraud risks, control gaps, and suggest actionable solutions.
  • Prepare clear and concise audit reports with findings, risk assessments, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to implement audit recommendations and track follow-up actions.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities as required.
  • Evaluate and improve corporate governance practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist in the development of the annual audit plan and risk assessment process.
  • Stay updated on changes in real estate regulations, accounting standards, and internal audit best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
  • CA / CIA / CMA / MBA (Finance) or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in internal audit, preferably in real estate, construction, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of internal auditing standards, risk-based auditing, and SOX or similar compliance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and audit tools.
  • In-depth understanding of financial, operational, and regulatory aspects of the real estate business.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • High ethical standards and attention to detail.
