Senior Lead Counsel - Employment Litigation

Position Summary...

Join the litigation team and advise the business and leadership about legal rights, obligations, and risks while managing a team of litigators handling employment litigation for the world’s largest retailer. The Senior Lead Counsel – Employment Litigation role is critical for developing and driving a consistent strategy across the employment litigation portfolio. You will also collaborate with the commercial litigation and employment counseling teams to develop strategy on complex issues. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate legal and business risk, providing legal advice and counsel. You will also retain, manage, and collaborate with outside counsel to drive case strategy, review and edit court submissions, and manage legal spend.

What you'll do...

  • Drive legal strategies for the company’s employment litigation matters

  • Manage a team of employment litigators to develop a consistent and aggressive approach to employment litigation

  • Provide legal advice and counsel to internal stakeholders

  • Manage outside counsel and legal spend for employment litigation matters

  • Collaborate with internal and external counsel to develop consistent, high-quality written work product on behalf of the company

What You'll Bring..

  • You’re an employment litigation expert, with experience managing single-plaintiff employment cases, wage-and-hour litigation, and PAGA matters

  • You’ve managed cases or claims involving the EEOC

  • You’ve advised business clients on policies and procedures designed to reduce the risk of employment litigation

  • You’re driven to execute and to act quickly

  • You’re process-minded and look for opportunities to streamline for improved efficiency and effectiveness

  • You have strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with senior leadership and stakeholders

Preferred qualifications:

  • Law degree from an accredited law school and eight years of legal experience

  • At least six years of employment litigation experience post-clerkship

  • License to practice law in at least one U.S. state and in good standing

The annual salary range for this position is $195,000.00-$370,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
