This role is envisioned to support BSF’s vision and the strategic direction to expand and update its overall trade finance capabilities covering all areas of trade products and services including –
Traditional trade

Supply Chain Finance

etc. associated with facilitating clients end-to-end trade finance requirements by strategizing, conceptualizing, developing and implementing key solutions that complement BSF’s well-established traditional documentary trade product suite. The role should drive and complement BSF’s overall transformation and digitalization projects/initiatives specially those focused around trade products, trade processes and trade channels with a clear vision to modernize BSF’s trade finance ecosystem and attain competitive edge in the market.
Responsibilities include:

Leadership and Strategy:
Lead, develop, implement, and commercialize BSF’s new and existing Trade Finance Solutions, ensuring alignment with the bank's strategic goals and client needs.

Market Analysis:
Monitor market trends, study competitor and industry data, and evaluate the need for improvements in existing products and processes to enhance efficiency and mitigate risks.

Product Development:
Manage the end-to-end Product Development Life Cycle by defining planned activities and driving them in consultation with relevant stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement:
Manage stakeholder and client expectations regarding the efficacy of new and existing products and solutions, ensuring smooth NAP approval processes.

Performance Metrics:
Establish specific performance metrics to evaluate the success of trade finance solutions, including product adoption rates and revenue growth.

Policy Development:
Develop comprehensive policies and procedures to govern all departmental activities, ensuring regular revisions and updates.

Audit Liaison:
Manage liaison with the audit team to ensure satisfactory audit outcomes and timely implementation of recommendations.

Team Leadership:
Lead and manage the trade product development team from concept to implementation, including product specifications, functionality, and documentation.

Collaboration:
Work with individuals across the bank to identify target market segments and implement effective commercialization plans to enhance product penetration and profitability.

Client Support:
Assist Trade Sales Specialists and Relationship Managers in implementing commercialization tools and advising clients on the best trade finance solutions.

Knowledge Sharing:
Conduct periodic awareness sessions among team members and stakeholders regarding trade products, structures, and new initiatives.

Digital Transformation:
Spearhead all digitization and transformation initiatives related to trade products and processes to modernize BSF’s trade finance ecosystem.

Strategic Partnerships:
Establish strategic tie-ups and fintech collaborations to overcome technology barriers and target untapped business opportunities.

Brand Representation:
Promote and represent the BSF brand at local and global summits and workshops.
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with a Management Degree/Post Graduate Degree.

At-least 12 years experience in corporate banking and trade finance environment.

Experience in Trade Product Development and business origination.

Knowledge and experience in Islamic Trade products and Structured Trade products.

Experience in structuring complex trade solutions and ability to write credit proposals

Well versed with trade systems, processes and risks / controls.
-
Experience in handling teams is an added advantage.
Knowledge & Skills:

In-depth knowledge of corporate banking and Trade Finance products.

Strong transaction structuring skills in a trade finance environment.

Excellent presentation and interaction skills with clients at senior levels.

Well-developed management, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and spoken).
