Senior Mechanical Engineer – MEP

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to oversee and execute MEP mechanical engineering projects within the UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and supervising all mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and drainage for large-scale buildings and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and review of mechanical systems for MEP projects in accordance with client requirements and local codes.
• Prepare and check technical specifications, calculations, drawings, and tender documents.
• Coordinate with architects, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems.
• Oversee the procurement process, including evaluating technical submissions and supplier/vendor selection.
• Supervise site activities to ensure installation compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Conduct site inspections, technical reviews, and quality control to ensure project milestones are achieved.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Prepare progress reports, technical documentation, and variation orders as required.
• Stay updated with the latest industry standards, codes, and best practices in mechanical engineering and MEP systems.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8-12 years of experience in MEP projects, with significant experience in the UAE market.
• Proven expertise in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection systems, and related mechanical disciplines.
• Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Mechanical 3D modeling tools.
• Knowledge of local codes and standards (e.g., Dubai/Abu Dhabi regulations, NFPA, ASHRAE).
• Strong project management and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred Certifications:

• Professional Engineering License (PE/Chartered Engineer).
• PMP or equivalent project management certification.
