Senior Mistress/ Academic Coordinator IGCSE level

Position: IGCSE Section Coordinator
Department: Academic
Reports To: Head of School / Principal

Job Purpose:

The IGCSE Coordinator is responsible for managing the academic and administrative operations of the IGCSE section. She ensures effective curriculum implementation, teacher supervision, and student progress while maintaining strong communication with parents and management.

Key Responsibilities:

Academic & Curriculum Management

  • Oversee implementation of Cambridge IGCSE curriculum across subjects.
  • Guide teachers in lesson planning, assessment design, and classroom delivery.
  • Ensure alignment with CAIE standards and assessment objectives.
  • Monitor students’ academic performance and recommend remedial support.

Teacher Supervision & Development

  • Conduct regular classroom observations and provide feedback.
  • Organize subject meetings, training sessions, and professional development workshops.
  • Mentor new teachers and support subject leaders in curriculum planning.

Examinations & Assessments

  • Plan, organize, and supervise internal examinations.
  • Coordinate with CAIE for registrations, coursework submissions, and exam protocols.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of results and student reports.

Student & Parent Engagement

  • Provide academic guidance and counseling to students regarding subject choices and exam preparation.
  • Arrange co-curricular and enrichment activities to enhance learning.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents through meetings and progress updates.

Administration & Coordination

  • Prepare timetables, duty rosters, and teacher allocations.
  • Ensure discipline and smooth functioning of the IGCSE section.
  • Act as a liaison between teachers, students, parents, and school management.
  • Submit academic and administrative reports to the Principal.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership, management, and organizational skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and school management software.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Education or relevant subject.
  • Minimum 5 years teaching experience at IGCSE/O-Levels.
  • Prior experience as a coordinator/section head will be an advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From Rs82,000.00 per month
