Domain controller focuses on managing user accounts, permissions, security, and the health of the network infrastructure to ensure secure, efficient, and reliable operations.
Installing and maintaining server hardware and operating systems, configuring and managing user accounts, implementing security protocols, monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues, and creating detailed network documentation.
Design, configure, implement, and maintain LAN, WAN, VPN, firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless networks.
In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and switching protocols.
Monitor network performance and proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to ensure minimal downtime.
Administer and maintain network security solutions including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security.
Manage user access, permissions, and roles within the network environment.
Conduct regular system audits, vulnerability assessments, and patch management.
Oversee disaster recovery planning and execute backup/restoration strategies for network systems.
Collaborate with IT leadership to design and implement network upgrades, expansions, and new technologies.
Document all network configurations, procedures, and policies.
Provide mentorship and technical support to junior IT staff.
Ensure compliance with company IT policies, standards, and security protocols.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
7–10 years of progressive experience in network administration within a corporate environment.
Strong hands-on experience with Cisco, Sophos XGS, Fortinet, HP, or equivalent network hardware.
Proven expertise in network security (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, endpoint protection).
Solid understanding of virtualization, cloud networking (Azure/AWS), and VoIP systems is a plus.
Familiarity with monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, or equivalent).
Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCNA Security, Fortinet NSE, or equivalent strongly preferred.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities under pressure.
