Senior Network Architect

Senior Network Architect

Responsibilities:

Network Design and Implementation:

· Design, configure, and implement Cisco switches, routers, and wireless access points.

· Develop and maintain High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation for network infrastructure.

· Implement and manage VLAN segmentation and Spanning Tree Protocol (STP).

· Configure and manage Switch Virtual Interfaces (SVIs).

· Implement and maintain secure tunneling solutions (e.g., IPsec, VPN).

· Design and implement network redundancy and failover solutions.

Network Security:

· Deploy and manage open-source firewalls (e.g., pfSense, OPNsense, Kerio).

· Implement and maintain network access control lists (ACLs).

· Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

· Ensure network compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations and log management for compliance (e.g., HIPAA).

VoIP Management:

· Configure and maintain VoIP systems and infrastructure.

· Troubleshoot VoIP call quality and connectivity issues.

· Optimize network performance for VoIP traffic.

Performance Optimization:

· Monitor network performance and identify bottlenecks.

· Implement network optimization techniques to improve efficiency and throughput.

· Utilize network monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve network issues.

ISP Management:

· Manage relationships with Internet Service Providers (ISPs).

· Monitor ISP performance and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.

· Troubleshoot ISP-related connectivity issues.

Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

· Provide Tier 2/3 support for network-related issues.

· Perform routine network maintenance and upgrades.

· Troubleshoot complex network problems and implement effective solutions.

Documentation and Reporting:

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including HLDs, LLDs, and network diagrams.

· Generate regular network performance reports.

· Document all network changes and troubleshooting activities.

Innovation and Improvement:

· Research and evaluate new networking technologies and solutions.

· Identify opportunities for network optimization and improvement.

· Implement innovative solutions to enhance network performance and security.

Compliance:

· Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations.

· Perform regular audits to ensure systems are compliant.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

· Proven experience in a multi-office environment.

· Extensive knowledge of Cisco networking technologies (switches, routers, wireless).

· Strong experience with open-source firewalls (pfSense, OPNsense, Kerio).

· Proficiency in VLAN segmentation, STP, SVIs, and tunneling technologies.

· Experience with VoIP systems and troubleshooting.

· Knowledge of network security best practices and compliance standards.

· Experience with network monitoring and performance optimization tools.

· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication and documentation skills.

· Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP) preferred.

Skills:

· Cisco IOS/NX-OS

· Open-source firewall management

· VLANs, STP, SVIs

· IPsec, VPN

· VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP)

· Network monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG, Zabbix, Nagios)

· Network security principles

· ISP management
