Job Title: Procurement Senior Engineer.

Sector/Business Line: ElSewedy Electric T&D.

Scope: Transmission & distribution.

Department: Supply Chain.

Job Location: Cairo, Egypt.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for electrical engineering projects.
  • Conduct market research to identify cost-effective and high-quality suppliers.
  • Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to ensure optimal cost savings and quality.
  • Source electrical components and materials as per project specifications and timelines.
  • Ensure timely procurement to avoid project delays.
  • Prepare and manage procurement budgets.
  • Analyze and report on cost-saving opportunities and ensure adherence to financial targets.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier performance.
  • Work closely with project managers, design teams, and site engineers to understand project requirements.
  • Align procurement schedules with project timelines and milestones.
  • Review technical specifications and drawings to ensure materials meet required standards.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team for material inspections and approvals.
  • Monitor supplier performance in terms of delivery, quality, and responsiveness.
  • Address and resolve supplier-related issues to maintain seamless operations.
  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans.
  • Manage shortages, delays, or quality issues efficiently.
  • Generate regular reports on procurement performance, savings, and supplier compliance.
  • Use data-driven insights to improve procurement efficiency.
  • Stay updated on market trends and new technologies in electrical engineering.
  • Implement innovative procurement solutions to enhance processes and outcomes.


Direct Manager: Procurement Commodity Manager.


Education Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.


Qualification:

  • Minimum 5 – 7 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the electrical, construction, or manufacturing industries.
  • A master’s degree or relevant certifications in supply chain management or procurement is an advantage.
  • Proven expertise in sourcing, negotiating, and managing contracts with suppliers for electrical components, systems, and related materials.
  • Experience in vendor identification, evaluation, and relationship management.
  • Track record of developing supplier partnerships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
  • Experience in coordinating procurement activities with project teams to meet technical specifications and project schedules.
  • Ability to handle procurement for multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.


Technical Skills Required:

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, equipment, and materials.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards to ensure compliance in procurement activities.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for data analysis and reporting.
