We’re Hiring: Senior Procurement Specialist | Abu Dhabi, UAE

Ankabut is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to join our HR & Finance team . This is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing procurement operations, optimizing sourcing strategies, and managing supplier relationships—ensuring cost-effective, compliant, and sustainable purchasing aligned with Ankabut’s goals.

As a senior member of the team, you will drive vendor performance, governance, efficiency, and ESG-aligned procurement practices that support Ankabut’s mission in advancing research and education across the UAE.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead supplier identification, evaluation, and selection through strategic sourcing and negotiations.
• Analyze and compare complex quotations to secure best-value decisions on cost, quality, and timelines.
• Drive high-value contract negotiations, ensuring favorable and risk-mitigated terms.
• Oversee purchase order execution, delivery performance, and supplier accountability.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies that deliver measurable cost savings.
• Build and sustain strong supplier partnerships, resolving escalations effectively.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, audit requirements, and documentation standards.
• Collaborate with HR, finance, operations, and project teams to align procurement with organizational priorities.
• Drive process improvement through digitization, automation, and adoption of best practices.
• Define and monitor KPIs for supplier performance and implement improvement plans.
• Support procurement budgeting, expenditure tracking, and optimization initiatives.
• Incorporate sustainability and ESG principles into procurement decisions.
• Conduct market research to anticipate trends, innovations, and supplier capabilities.
• Provide strategic guidance on complex procurement issues and supplier disputes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology (IT) is required.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPM, or equivalent ) are preferred.
• 5–7 years of progressive procurement/supply chain experience with a strong track record in IT procurement .
• Managerial-level procurement experience, preferably within the education sector .
• Proven expertise in strategic sourcing, high-value negotiations, and vendor management .
