Senior Project Manager - Embedded Software/ Firmware

About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead software program execution and release management for next-generation IoT SoCs and platform solutions. In this role, you’ll own the planning, execution, and delivery of software and embedded firmware deliverables that support new integrated circuit (IC) designs and key software technology initiatives.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including Software, Embedded/Firmware, IC Design, Hardware, Applications, Validation, Operations, Product Management, Sales, and Marketing—to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.
This position requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of software development lifecycles, experience managing technically complex products, and the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and customers.

What You’ll Do
  • Own end-to-end program management for software projects—from early planning and definition through execution, release, and project closure.
  • Lead software release planning across multiple teams, defining release scope, milestones, dependencies, and schedules aligned to silicon and product timelines.
  • Drive cross-team collaboration across embedded software, SDK, firmware, tools, validation, applications, and system engineering to ensure smooth integration and delivery.
  • Build and maintain integrated program plans including WBS, resource forecasts, risk registers, dashboards, and stakeholder communications.
  • Manage release readiness by coordinating feature completion, testing, validation, documentation, and overall release quality/compliance expectations.
  • Proactively identify risks and execution gaps, drive mitigation plans, and lead decision-making on tradeoffs to protect committed deliverables.
  • Manage scope and change control, ensuring changes are evaluated and handled through established processes before impacting execution.
  • Lead cross-functional program and release reviews, ensuring transparency, accountability, and clear ownership across global teams.
  • Communicate clearly with senior leadership and customers through structured status updates, milestone tracking, and action-item management.
  • Promote Agile / hybrid execution, and continuously improve software program and release practices (e.g., CI/CD adoption, automation, tooling, and predictability).
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)
  • A technical bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience/training).
  • 7–8+ years leading complex projects/programs, ideally involving software + embedded/firmware work and cross-functional execution.
  • Strong working knowledge of SDLC, and experience running projects in Agile and/or Waterfall environments.
  • Comfortable partnering with engineers and understanding the connections between firmware, hardware, and IC design.
  • Strong communication and influence skills—you can drive alignment, make hard tradeoffs visible, and keep teams motivated.
Nice to have
  • PMP / Agile / SAFe or other project management certifications.
  • Advanced degree (MS/MBA).
  • Experience with semiconductor product development planning/scheduling,
