Senior Projects Engineer – Civil
will lead and oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of medium to large-scale civil engineering projects. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while aligning with MariEnergies’ strategic objectives. The Senior Projects Engineer will act as the key liaison between project teams, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders, providing technical guidance and driving operational excellence throughout the project lifecycle.
Main duties & responsibilities:

Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of civil engineering projects, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and budgets.

Review and approve design drawings, BOQs, technical submittals, and project specifications, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.

Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans; monitor progress and implement corrective measures as needed.

Supervise project teams, including Assistant Project Engineers, site engineers, and contractors, ensuring effective coordination and performance.

Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, consultants, and contractors, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution of issues.

Oversee procurement, material management, and logistics to ensure timely availability of resources and minimize project delays.

Conduct regular site inspections, quality audits, and HSE compliance checks to uphold organizational and regulatory standards.

Identify project risks, propose mitigation strategies, and implement corrective actions to maintain project integrity and continuity.

Prepare and review project reports, progress updates, and documentation for senior management and other stakeholders.

Support project handovers, commissioning, and close-out activities, ensuring all deliverables meet operational and quality requirements.

Mentor and develop junior engineers and project staff, promoting knowledge sharing and professional growth within the team.

Stay updated on industry trends, engineering best practices, and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Competencies/Qualifications:

Bachelor’s/Masters degree in civil engineering; or professional certification (PE/Chartered Engineer) is a plus.

12-16
years of experience in civil construction or infrastructure projects, preferably in EPC, energy, or large-scale industrial projects.

Strong knowledge of civil engineering design, construction methodologies, project management processes, and HSE standards.

Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD, or equivalent).

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Experience of working on camp-based construction sites in remote locations, and flexible to work in remote areas, with prompt mobilization as required.

Familiarity with contract conditions (FIDIC or equivalent)
