Job Summary

Preparing quantity take-offs, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and cost estimates to support tendering and project execution. The role works closely with the Technical Office Manager and engineering teams to ensure accurate quantity measurements, cost analysis, and proper coordination with project drawings and specifications. The position plays a key role in supporting procurement, cost planning, and project budgeting activities.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepare detailed quantity take-offs from project drawings and specifications.
  2. Develop and review Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for tendering and project execution.
  3. Support the tendering process by preparing quantity calculations and cost breakdowns.
  4. Coordinate with the technical office team to ensure quantities align with design drawings and revisions.
  5. Review project drawings and identify any quantity discrepancies or design conflicts .
  6. Prepare material quantity schedules to support procurement and planning activities.
  7. Assist in preparing project cost estimates and budgets based on calculated quantities.
  8. Update quantity calculations when design modifications or revisions occur.
  9. Support the preparation of variation quantities resulting from design changes.
  10. Coordinate with site engineers to verify quantities and ensure accurate measurement of executed work.
  11. Maintain organized records of quantity calculations, BOQs, and cost documentation .
  12. Provide technical support related to measurement standards and quantity calculations .
  13. Ensure quantities are prepared according to standard measurement methods and project specifications .
  14. Assist the Technical Office Manager in preparing reports related to quantities and project costs .


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture .
  • Minimum 8–12 years of experience in quantity surveying or technical office roles.
  • Experience working in engineering consulting firms or construction companies .
  • Strong knowledge of quantity take-off methods and BOQ preparation .
  • Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and measurement standards .
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, and quantity take-off tools .
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Good communication and coordination abilities.
