About Your Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will:

  • Manages and supervises the measurement of trades and material that assist with the package allocations, in line with agreed standards.
  • Ensures all the insurances relating to the project are completed with receipt, as per project requirement.
  • Manages the allocation of team responsibilities and ensures that all members know the tasks expected of them, for their specific role.
  • Ensures that everyone reviews and complies with the contract documents and communication of the risks and obligations of the project team are observed, in line with company requirements.
  • Protects against liability damages and penalties by keeping close track of project delay events, per the project schedule.
  • Ensures cost effective outcomes are realized through the management of legal and claims consultants, as per the project agreements.
  • Agrees the monthly progress measures with main contractor or PQS, as per the project guidelines.
  • Ensures tasks given to team members are delivered, as per the company and project standards.
  • Monitors and checks that the work produced by the team is delivered to the standard required by the project, per the ALEMCO standards.
  • Provides individual mentorship to the team and motivates team members, as per the company standards.
  • Arranges regular communication and meetings with the main contractor or PQS to ensure a high level of transparency and smooth work relationships, within project guidelines.
  • Authorizes the placement of LPOs, ensuring LPOs do not exceed the cost allowable.
  • Ensures that the LPOs are raised with the correct and accurate payment terms, as per the agreements.
  • Prepares and presents the monthly cost reports internally to provide an accurate reflection to both current and forecasted revenue and profit, on a monthly basis.
  • Manages and agrees the Final Accounts, per the agreed schedule.
  • Obtains all completion/TOC/performance certificates from the Client and/or main contractor, within the agreed timelines.
  • Ensures regular discussions with all key stakeholders on the project, per the agreed timelines.
  • Ensures disputes are resolved quickly and effectively, in line with project agreements.


What We’re Looking For


Experience:

  • 10+ years’ experience, with 5+ years in Data Center.
  • Proven skills in contract management, cost control, and subcontractor management.
  • Strong commercial awareness, leadership, and negotiation skills.


Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or related discipline, with ≥ 10 years’ relevant experience.
  • Expertise in cost control, contract administration, claims, risk management and procurement.
  • Proven record managing large, technically complex projects. and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring and team-motivation skills across multiple locations.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and analytical abilities; commercially astute.


Desirable

  • Professional membership (e.g. MRICS, MCIArb).
  • Familiarity with cost-management software (Candy, CCS).
  • Experience with FIDIC / NEC forms and 5D BIM.
  • Exposure to Lean / Agile commercial management.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline.
