Senior Quantity Surveyor

The Role

We are seeking a seasoned Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to lead our commercial functions. This isn't a role for a spectator; we need a strategist who understands the intricacies of the entire MEP lifecycle. You will be the bridge between our technical teams, the Main Contractor, and the Consultants, ensuring that commercial interests are protected while maintaining professional project relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Full MEP Scope Management: Oversee all commercial aspects of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing works, from initial budgeting to final account settlement.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary commercial point of contact for Consultants and Main Contractors. You must be comfortable negotiating, justifying variations, and defending claims.
• Contract Administration: Manage sub-contractor accounts, progress payments, and ensure compliance with Qatar’s construction laws and project specifications.
• Cost Control & Reporting: Lead internal cost-value reconciliations (CVR) and provide accurate financial forecasting to senior management.
• Process Mastery: Implement and refine commercial processes to ensure efficiency and transparency across the project.

What We Are Looking For

• Deep Expertise: A minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience specifically within MEP Quantity Surveying.
• Local Knowledge: You must be currently based in Qatar with a thorough understanding of the local market, suppliers, and regulatory environment.
• Technical Authority: Comprehensive knowledge of MEP systems and the ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional negotiation and interpersonal skills. You should be able to navigate high-pressure meetings with consultants and contractors with confidence and tact.
• Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field. MRICS or similar professional accreditation is highly desirable.

• Immediate Availability: Candidates who can join immediately or within a very short notice period will be prioritized.
• Right to Work: Must have a valid QID and be permitted to work in Qatar (NOC preferred).
