Senior Scrum Master

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Scrum Master with 8+ years of Agile delivery experience to support high-performing cross-functional teams in a multi-project enterprise environment.

This role is ideal for a strong practitioner who excels at facilitation, delivery governance, Agile coaching, and continuous improvement. The position is senior in expertise and influence but does not include people management responsibilities.

The ideal candidate brings maturity, strong facilitation skills, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to improve delivery predictability in complex environments.

Key Responsibilities

Agile Facilitation & Execution

• Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives) with a focus on outcomes and value delivery.
• Ensure sprint goals are clear, achievable, and aligned with business priorities.
• Maintain discipline around Definition of Ready (DoR) and Definition of Done (DoD).

Backlog & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner closely with Product Owners and Business Analysts to ensure backlog clarity, prioritization, and readiness.
• Promote transparency and alignment between business and technical teams.

Delivery Tracking & Metrics

• Track and analyze Agile metrics such as Velocity, Burn-down/Burn-up charts, Cycle Time, Lead Time, and Predictability.
• Use Azure DevOps dashboards to provide accurate delivery insights.
• Support leadership with clear reporting on progress, risks, and dependencies.

Impediment & Risk Management

• Proactively identify and remove team-level impediments.
• Escalate and follow through on cross-functional blockers.
• Mitigate delivery risks through structured Agile practices.

Continuous Improvement

• Facilitate effective retrospectives that lead to measurable improvements.
• Drive process refinements that enhance quality, efficiency, and predictability.
• Encourage experimentation and adoption of Agile best practices.

Team Enablement

• Foster self-organizing, accountable, and empowered teams.
• Promote a culture of collaboration between Development, QA, and Business teams.
• Coach team members on Agile principles and practical application.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Agile software development environments.
• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Scrum Master.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PSM, or equivalent Agile certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of Scrum framework, Kanban principles, and Lean practices.
• Experience working in complex, cross-functional enterprise environments.
• Proficiency in Agile collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Miro, Confluence , etc.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to influence and guide teams without direct authority.
