Senior Staff Accountant

Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of financial information, compliance with accounting standards, and the efficient operation of our financial systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and recommend improvements.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits.
• Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.
• Continuously improve accounting processes and systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory position.
• Cannabis experience greatly desired
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
