Senior Technical Engineer - Joinery & Fit-out

Job SummaryThe Senior Technical Engineer (Joinery & Fit-out) is responsible for bridging the gap between design intent and on-site execution. They manage the technical documentation, shop drawings, material submittals, and technical coordination with factory production and site teams to ensure high-end, accurate, and timely project delivery. They often oversee technical teams, including draftspersons, to produce detailed joinery drawings and resolve site challenges. Key Responsibilities

• Technical Documentation & Drawings: Prepare, review, and approve detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and joinery cutting lists.
• Design Interpretation: Interpret 3D interior design sketches, IFC (Issued for Construction) drawings, and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) to generate accurate production orders.
• Technical Coordination: Liaise between the factory production team, site engineers, clients, and consultants to resolve technical issues and RFIs (Request for Information).
• Site Support & Quality Control: Perform site inspections to ensure installation matches approved technical drawings and quality standards.
• Material Specification: Oversee the selection and submittal of materials, ironmongery, and finishes, ensuring compliance with specifications.
• Project Planning: Create and update project schedules, and assist in managing the technical department's workflow.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related technical field.
• Experience: Minimum 6–10+ years of experience in joinery and high-end interior fit-out projects, with at least 3-5 years in a senior/lead role.
• Market Knowledge: Proven experience within the UAE/GCC construction market is typically required.
