Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage daily civil construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, designs, specifications, BOQ, and project schedules.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, labor teams, consultants, suppliers, and project management for smooth execution of foundation, structural, concrete, finishing, and other civil works.
- Conduct regular site inspections, quality control checks, and material testing to maintain high standards and identify/rectify defects promptly.
- Monitor progress against planned timelines; prepare daily/weekly progress reports, measurements, as-built records, and billing documentation.
- Manage site resources: oversee material usage, storage, and wastage control; track labor productivity and assign daily tasks.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols; conduct toolbox talks, enforce PPE usage, and report/resolve incidents.
- Resolve on-site technical issues, propose engineering solutions, and coordinate with design/engineering teams for changes or variations.
- Maintain accurate site records, including logs, drawings, RFIs (Requests for Information), change orders, and handover documentation.
- Assist in quantity take-offs, cost monitoring, and variation claims; support project handover and close-out activities.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities for inspections, permits, and compliance as required for construction projects.
- Travel between project sites as needed and work in challenging site conditions to meet deadlines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university (BS/BE Civil).
- 4–8 years of hands-on experience as Site Civil Engineer, Civil Site Engineer, or similar in construction, EPCC, infrastructure, building projects, or industrial works (experience in concrete structures, roads, or heavy civil preferred).
- Strong technical knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, standards (e.g., ACI, ASTM, local building codes), and quality control processes.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel for reporting); working knowledge of AutoCAD (for site sketches/markups) and MS Project/Primavera is a plus.
- Excellent site supervision, leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to manage teams and work under pressure.
