Site Engineer – Civil

Job description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and monitor civil engineering works on-site including foundations, concrete works, earthworks, roads, drainage, and utilities.
• Interpret and review construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, architects, contractors, and subcontractors to plan and execute construction activities.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure quality control, safety compliance, and adherence to project timelines.
• Assist in preparing progress reports, daily logs, and documentation related to site activities.
• Identify and resolve technical issues and provide on-site solutions to keep construction work on track.
• Monitor material usage and availability, ensuring proper handling and storage of civil construction materials.
• Support the implementation of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies on site.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies as needed during the project lifecycle.
• Ensure all works are executed according to engineering standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience (5 -10years) as a Site Engineer or similar role in civil construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and materials.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with construction safety standards and regulations.
• Good communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing project demands.
• Proficiency in relevant software tools (AutoCAD, MS Project, Excel) is a plus.
