Site Engineer- Civil Infrastructure

Job Purpose

Site Engineer will oversee the on-site activities for projects, manage construction operations, and ensure that plans and specifications are accurately implemented. They are responsible for coordinating with the team, resolving technical issues, and monitoring progress to ensure successful project execution.

Responsibilities & Duties

- Act as the primary technical advisor on construction sites, offering expert guidance to subcontractors, craftsmen, and operatives.

- Conduct thorough reviews of plans, specifications, drawings, and quantities to ensure accurate calculations and precise execution.

- Maintain strict adherence to project specifications by overseeing the proper use of materials and the execution of work.

- Manage the selection and procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring their timely availability to meet project requirements.

- Foster effective collaboration with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the project team to ensure seamless operations.

- Coordinate with local authorities to ensure full compliance with construction regulations and by-laws.

- Establish and maintain open lines of communication with clients, architects, engineers, and surveyors to facilitate site coordination and uphold quality standards.

- Supervise and monitor the site labor force and subcontractors daily to ensure optimal productivity and quality of work.

- Strategically plan and organize work activities to meet project deadlines, optimizing the utilization of plant and site facilities.

- Implement rigorous quality control and health and safety (HSE) protocols on-site, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and standards.

- Prepare comprehensive reports documenting project progress, identifying issues, and proposing resolutions as necessary.

- Address unforeseen technical difficulties and other challenges promptly by coordinating with relevant stakeholders.

- Fulfill any additional official duties assigned by superiors promptly and effectively.

Education Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

- Minimum of 5 + years’ UAE experience in a comparable role within Roads and Infrastructure turnkey projects.

- Professional Certifications are beneficial.

Work Experience & Skills

- Possesses sound judgment and maintains a proactive attitude.

- Previous experience in the GCC region is advantageous.

- Demonstrated ability to perform effectively under pressure.

- Strong attention to detail

- Ability to read drawings and specifications.

- Knowledge of reading drawings by using AutoCAD / MicroStation

- Proficiency in using Computer & software such as MS Office / ERP Software
