Role Overview

The Site Head will be responsible for managing the end-to-end execution of large-scale solar power projects (utility-scale) at the site level. This role includes leadership of the entire site team, coordination with HO and contractors, and ensuring project delivery within scope, budget, safety, and timeline parameters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the entire project site team including construction, electrical, civil, HSE, quality, and logistics functions.
  • Ensure execution of project as per design, schedule, and quality standards, while maintaining full compliance with HSE guidelines.
  • Manage daily site operations, resource planning, work scheduling, and manpower management.
  • Coordinate with HO departments like Engineering, Procurement, Planning, and Finance to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Interface with EPC contractors, vendors, consultants, and local authorities for work progress and issue resolution.
  • Conduct regular reviews and meetings to monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans.
  • Ensure availability and proper storage of materials, tools, and equipment on site.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and reporting – including DPR, WPR, and MPR – for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive project progress to meet key milestones like module mounting, electrical installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Handle site-related statutory and regulatory compliances, permissions, and inspections.
  • Oversee safety and quality audits, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Report project status, challenges, and resource requirements to senior management on a regular basis.

Key Skills & Attributes:

  • Proven leadership of large, cross-functional site teams in utility-scale solar projects (100 MW+ preferred).
  • Strong understanding of civil, electrical, and mechanical works in solar projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving, crisis management, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proficient in project tracking tools, MS Project / Primavera, and ERP systems.
  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal – to interact with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and on-time project delivery.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

  • Prior experience as a Site In-charge or Site Project Manager for IPPs or top-tier EPCs.
  • Willingness to be stationed at remote project sites for long durations.
  • Familiarity with ground-mounted utility-scale solar projects, SCADA, HT lines, and substation interfaces.
  • A proactive leader who can handle site challenges with agility and accountability.
