Job Title : Site MEP & Civil Project Manager
Location: Site-based — Karachi, Pakistan

Role summary
Senior on-site manager responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering integrated MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) and Civil works packages. Ensures projects are executed safely, to specification, on schedule and within budget while managing contractors, site teams and client/consultant interfaces.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage day-to-day execution of civil and MEP scopes on site (foundations, structural interfaces, finishes, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, controls, etc.).
- Prepare, review and drive project schedules, milestones and short-term look-ahead plans; implement corrective actions to meet deadlines.
- Manage subcontractors and site workforce: clarify scopes, supervise performance, enforce quality and HSE standards, and resolve resource conflicts.
- Produce, review and control BOQs, variation orders, progress claims and site-level cost forecasts; support procurement and vendor evaluation for materials and MEP equipment.
- Coordinate MEP–civil interfaces to prevent clashes and rework; review and approve shop drawings, installation details and as-built documentation.
- Oversee MEP pre-commissioning and commissioning activities in coordination with specialists (pumps, AHUs, chillers, electrical distribution, instrumentation, BMS). Ensure systems are tested and handed over per specifications.
- Maintain strict quality control: conduct inspections, supervise testing, ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and client/consultant comments.
- Control site documentation: daily reports, RFIs, submittals, test reports, progress photos, NCRs and handover packs.
- Monitor and control project risks; escalate issues promptly and propose cost-effective solutions.
- Liaise with clients, consultants and local authorities for approvals, inspections and progress meetings.
- Mentor and develop junior site engineers/supervisors; promote disciplined site routines and workmanship standards.
- Be available for extended hours during critical phases, tests or handovers.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Strong candidates with DAE plus extensive site experience may be considered.
- Proven track record delivering projects on time, on budget and to quality standards.
- Strong competency in project planning & controls (scheduling, progress tracking, basic cost control). Experience with MS Project or Primavera is an advantage.
- Hands-on familiarity with MEP systems (HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, fire protection, controls/BMS) and civil construction processes.
- Proficient in reading/reviewing construction drawings, single-line diagrams, BOQs and technical specifications; experience with AutoCAD / Revit is desirable.
- Experience with procurement/tendering, vendor evaluation and contract management.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors.
- Strong emphasis on HSE and ability to enforce safe working culture on site.
- Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with project management/ERP software is a plus.
- Able to work full-time on site, travel between Karachi sites and work extended hours when required.
- Good command of English (written & spoken).
