Salary Range

$68,000.00 - $120,500.00

Overview
Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain Management and Sustainability, the Sourcing and Procurement Manager provides support during the initiation of vendor engagements. This position is responsible for placement of orders, monitoring shipment logistics, aiding the communication of shortages, substitutions, and product updates to operation managers. They will adhere to the Yale Hospitality core objectives of sustainability and sourcing, as well as effectively articulate the mission to third party vendors and food partners.
In accordance with the Yale Sustainability Office and the Yale Sustainable Food Project, the role works to ensure adherence to approved third party rating programs including AASHE, STARS programs for food and non-food items. This role will require occasional travel.

Required Skills and Abilities
1. Proven project management, organizational, analytical, and consultative skills. Ability to manage multiple projects to deadline amidst competing priorities.

2. Well-developed leadership and interpersonal communication, oral, written, and organizational skills

3. Thoroughness, accuracy, and attention to detail.

4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word

5. A demonstrated commitment to goals of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging and an ability to work with diverse constituencies.

Preferred Skills and Abilities

1. Food service management experience; prior large volume purchasing and procurement exposure.

2. Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) certification preferred.

Principal Responsibilities

1. This position assists with in-depth probing and fact-finding conversations to gather information and provide accurate guidance to community members. This includes new vendor setup, credit verification forms, tax exemption documentation and relevant accounting processes as well as creating purchase requisitions for final approval in appropriate system. 2. This person will work closely with the Yale Hospitality culinary team, the Director of Supply Chain and Sustainability, and the Yale Hospitality leads responsible for ensuring the integrity of items in the menu management and purchasing systems. They will coordinate the collection and dissemination of all supplier nutrition, pricing, UOM, sustainability and other information required by to maintain data integrity in both systems, as well as perform routine audits for accuracy. Maintains a calendar of cyclical purchasing activities, sourcing events, special events and other reoccurring activities 3. This role may be asked to aid in research related to item specifications and availability, volume distribution, communicating information regarding product and logistical issues that could potentially impact food production excellence, quality, or operational efficiencies as well as aid in resolving invoices. They will also own the distribution of timely reporting and analysis of vendor statistical data. 4. They will seek out new and innovative industry trends to guide and inform future purchasing behavior and stay abreast of challenges so that they can inform, and act proactively as needed, to prevent interruptions in food preparation and production. 5. May be asked to perform other relevant duties as the need arises. Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree and three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
