Job Purpose

To provide high quality, specialist level Internal Medicine care in line with evidence based clinical standards, supporting the diagnosis, treatment, and long term management of acute and chronic medical conditions. The role delivers safe, ethical, and patient centred care within a busy outpatient (OPD) clinic environment at our Arabian Center Clinic, Dubai.

Role Overview

This is an outpatient based (OPD) Internal Medicine role based at our Arabian Center Clinic, Dubai.

The position is well suited to a Specialist Internal Medicine physician with strong OPD experience who is comfortable managing a broad range of acute presentations, chronic disease pathways, and long term patient follow up in a community clinic setting.

Given the clinic's patient demographic, fluency in Arabic is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive specialist Internal Medicine care in line with best practice clinical guidelines and Al Futtaim Health Medical Staff Bylaws
  • Consult with patients to assess symptoms, medical history, and health concerns
  • Diagnose and manage acute illnesses, including bacterial and viral infections, as well as chronic medical conditions
  • Prescribe and manage medications, therapies, and preventive care plans
  • Explain diagnoses, investigations, procedures, and treatment plans clearly to patients
  • Monitor patient progress, review outcomes, and adjust treatment plans as required
  • Provide health and wellness advice, including lifestyle modification, disease prevention, and long term care guidance
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical records
  • Refer patients to other specialists when clinically appropriate
  • Support patients requiring long term or ongoing medical care
  • Participate equitably in the on call roster, where applicable
  • Contribute to clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and departmental development activities
  • Engage in continuing medical education and remain current with developments in Internal Medicine
  • Work collaboratively with nursing staff, allied health professionals, and other specialists to optimise patient outcomes
Candidate Profile
  • DHA licensed or DHA eligible Specialist in Internal Medicine
  • Strong clinical competence across general Internal Medicine in an OPD setting
  • Comfortable managing both acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Experience working in a busy outpatient or community clinic environment
  • Fluency in Arabic is essential (spoken); English fluency is also required
  • Excellent communication skills with patients and multidisciplinary teams
  • Patient focused, ethical, and quality driven in clinical practice
  • Team oriented, reliable, and adaptable
  • Familiarity with community based patient populations is an advantage
Qualifications And Experience
  • MBBS / MBChB or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Completion of a recognised specialty qualification approved by DHA, HAAD, or MOH (UAE)
Minimum 5 Years Post qualification Experience At Specialist Level
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
  • Fluency in Arabic (essential) and English (spoken and written)
  • Strong computer literacy skills
  • Publications in peer reviewed journals are advantageous but not mandatory
