Terrain Bookkeeping is looking for a light-hearted, detail-oriented, part-time bookkeeping professional with a growth mindset, who will strive to deliver a top-notch experience for our clients. For this role, pet lovers are a plus!

Terrain Bookkeeping is a virtual, boutique bookkeeping firm that specializes in serving veterinary clinics. Our mission is to help veterinarians increase profits by providing key financial insights so they can build thriving, sustainable practices.
We are a small but growing team, looking to find someone to grow with us in roles and responsibilities as the business grows. We have our processes and systems in place, but are always working to improve so that we can deliver our work more efficiently. We believe in respecting your time, both at work and outside of work, and will never ask you to work weekends or nights. Our entire team is virtual and our clients are casual, so no stuffy suits or fancy clothes are needed here!
This opportunity is for a remote part-time employee position to handle bookkeeping for multiple clients using QuickBooks Online. The role will start with 10-15 hrs/week and will increase gradually to 15-20 hrs/week, with the potential opportunity to increase to full time over time. This is a W-2 employee position and reports to the Account Manager. We also offer education and office equipment stipends, as well as paid time off and paid volunteer time. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities & Duties:
1. Enter monthly revenue breakdown via journal entry
2. Categorize expense transactions with receipt management
3. Perform monthly Bank, Credit Card and Loan account reconciliations
4. Ask clients questions about unclear transactions via Double
5. Prepare monthly journal entries for payroll and other entries as needed
6. Check in with team Double checklists and provide status updates
7. Review work through quality control checklist
8. Other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
1. Must have at least 1-2 years experience working in a bookkeeping or accounting firm previously. Experience working with veterinary bookkeeping is a tremendous plus.
2. Bachelor's Degree preferred, ideally in accounting or finance or related field, but not required.
3. Must have your own computer, phone and consistent internet access
4. Must reside in the United States in ET, CT or MST time zones.
5. Proficient in QuickBooks Online (QBO). QBO ProAdvisor Certification is a plus.
6. Comfortable working with Excel. Experience with Double (formerly Keeper), Notion, Slack, Google Drive & Gusto is a plus.
7. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
8. Self-motivated with strong time management skills
9. Responsive and able to meet project deadlines
10. Not afraid to ask questions when you need clarification
11. Must be available to work sometime between M-Th, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. ET, which are our core team hours, and attend weekly team meeting on Tuesdays at 10:30 am ET.
