Purpose of the job
Putting architecture and implementing complex End to End Solutions for Packet Core system
Duties and responsibilities
- Follow on hardware and software status of Packet Core systems (SGSNs, GGSNs, MMEs, AMF, SMF, s-GW, p-GW, CGs, DNSs, Optimization, Caching, Transparent Caching, AAA & PaCo DN) that provide Data service for all Orange subscribers and estimating their influence on other teams systems.
- Perform virtualized Packet Core cross systems insurance of alignment with most recent validations in Orange.
- Handle Master Plan for Packet Core systems latest hardware and software releases.
- Benchmark with Orange subsidiaries for best practices used in Packet Core domain. Evaluates impact of redesign on other teams plans.
- Analyze Commercial forecast versus Packet Core plans, and give recommendations for projects and upgrades.
- Recommend solutions to unprecedented problems that may occur in own area of expertise. Evaluate impact on other teams. Test new features & setups in Packet Core LAB to reach optimum solution.
- Responsible for studying new architecture recommendations in Orange group and provide evaluation reports of usefulness in local environment.
- Perform studies regularly and evaluate failure scenarios for major Packet Core services. Investigate and provide alternative solution for weak points.
- Create and maintain documentation for solutions implemented in Packet Core.
- Collaborate with customers and vendors/suppliers during new solutions in design phase for optimum delivery.
- Manage supplier-relations from RFQ (Request for Quotation) including design, evaluation of supplier selection, awarding till equipment delivery and implementation.
- Act as Project Manager for major projects. Handling Integration, Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, Human Resources, Communications, Risk, Procurement & Stakeholders.
- Handle communication with Procurement & Budgeting teams and Warehouse teams, to ensure smooth Packet Core workflow.
- Provide Packet Core Management with weekly progress report on the ongoing activities.
- Follow up on Packet Core Budget commitments, spending, Final Acceptances, Purchase Forms & Purchase Orders.
Job specification
Education
University degree – Faculty of Engineering-Communications or equivalent
Experience
- Minimum of 4 years of experience, 2 of which in a relevant role.
Knowledge in various Packet Core systems
Skills and abilities
- Very good English both written & spoken.
- Very good Computer skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills required to interface with different departments. Ability to persuade teams with suggested solutions.
- Ability to mentor Junior team members
- Ability to work under pressure
- Full up-to-date knowledge of telecom regulations and standards
