JOB PURPOSE

As a Senior Talent Acquisition Officer, you are expected to support the University of Sharjah's recruitment strategy by sourcing, attracting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding talent, while promoting the University's employer brand through recruitment initiatives and events, and providing guidance and support to colleges and departments in meeting their recruitment needs in accordance with UoS regulations, bylaws, and procedures.


MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

  • Review Talent Requisition Forms to ensure completeness, required approvals, and attachment of relevant job descriptions.
  • Draft and prepare job vacancy announcements in accordance with approved job posting guidelines.
  • Source candidates through approved internal, external, and online recruitment channels based on the Talent Acquisition Sourcing Plan.
  • Review and evaluate CVs, qualifications, experience letters, and supporting documents against job requirements and employment conditions.
  • Conduct phone screening interviews and submit screening results and recommendations for review.
  • Develop and manage interview schedules in coordination with hiring managers and relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare and issue employment offers for academic and non-academic staff, ensuring all required approvals are obtained.
  • Manage and coordinate security clearance and visa processes with the relevant internal departments.
  • Create employee files, enter new hire data into the HR system, and prepare personnel action forms for final audit.


REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to prepare professional documents, in both Arabic and English.
  • Excellent working knowledge of personal computer applications with an emphasis on MS office applications such as Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Familiarity with social media, C.V. databases, and professional networks.
  • Experience with full-cycle recruiting, using various interview techniques and evaluation methods.
  • Good follow-up and tracking skills resulting in the timely completion of multiple assignments.
  • A keen understanding of the requirements for each role.
  • Good interpersonal.
  • Time management skills.
  • Knowledge of ERP Systems related to HR operations would be an advantage.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to function effectively as part of a team.


DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a relevant discipline.
  • 5 years of UAE experience in similar role preferably in higher education institutions.
  • A professional Human Resources certification (such as CIPD, SHRM, etc.) is a plus.
  • interview techniques and evaluation methods.
  • Priority is to UAE Nationals.
