Staff Accountant/SBA Remittance

First Financial Bank has an immediate opening for a Staff Accountant/SBA Remittance at the Corporate Office located in El Dorado, Arkansas.

The primary responsibilities of this position, which are critical functions to the Bank, are to perform duties associated with the remittance of serviced Small Business Administration loans. Also perform reconciliations of various general ledger accounts, serve as backup for other accounting department functions, and perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree preferred with a broad knowledge of accounting. Education and/or experience equivalent to a major in accounting, finance, or business.

COMPLEXITY: Ability to analyze loan information, perform mathematical calculations, such as loan interest accrual and payment verification, discounts, etc. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variable.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Review, analyze, and reconcile SBA borrower activity reports for accuracy. Prepare and submit monthly and daily accounting reports and remittances for SBA. Reconciliation of various general ledger accounts. Responsible for other duties as assigned by department supervisor.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be proficient in MS Excel. Must possess excellent organization skills and be able to work under strict time deadlines. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Should be able to handle multiple tasks and be a self-starter.
