Storekeeper (Oman)

What we need?

Storekeeper (Ibri, Oman) will perform a variety of shipping/receiving, stocking activities; stores and distributes supplies and equipment; maintains inventory and stock records; may serve as a lead worker to other classified staff in the area; and perform related work as required.


Technical:

  • Maintain inventory for plant supplies includes ordering, receiving and allocating
  • Prepare and type annual requisitions, orders, reports and correspondence.
  • Receives and inspects all incoming materials and reconciles with purchase orders; processes and distributes documentation with purchase orders; reports, documents and tracks damages and discrepancies on orders received.
  • Post daily incoming and outgoing plant stock.
  • Reports cancelled and damaged items to the purchase department as appropriate
  • Handles and documents storage and transportation of hazardous materials.
  • Identification, segregation and preservation of materials stored
  • Maintains the warehouse, records area and stores area in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Segregation of waste for proper disposal
  • Inform relevant personnel about the arrival of material and to arrange for inspection
  • Answers questions regarding procedures and resolves discrepancies regarding receipts, deliveries, warranties, repairs and surplus property.
  • Arrange to return non-conforming materials
  • Issue material as per the requirements and maintain records

  • Adhere to all relevant health, safety, security and environmental procedures, instructions and controls so that the safety of employees and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.


Attributes:

  • Awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environment Management system principles
  • Knowledge of environmental and health impact of chemicals being stored in the ware house
  • Knowledge of identification, handling, storing and disposal of wastes and expired chemicals
  • Ability to operate a personal computer and related software
  • Good communication skills in English Language.

Who will fit?

  • Technical certificate / Associate’s Diploma in any discipline
  • 3-5 years’ experience in process industry in stores or utility industry
