Structural Steel Estimator

• Review tender documents, structural drawings, and project specifications.
• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for structural steel (columns, beams, plates, bracing, ladders, platforms, etc.).
• Calculate steel weight (MT), material requirements, and wastage factors.
• Prepare cost estimates for fabrication, welding, painting/galvanizing, transportation, and erection.
• Analyze labor, equipment, crane, and logistics costs related to steel works.
• Request and evaluate quotations from steel suppliers, fabricators, and subcontractors.
• Coordinate with engineering and fabrication teams for technical clarifications.
• Identify project risks, assumptions, inclusions, and exclusions in estimates.
• Assist in value engineering and cost optimization proposals.
• Prepare tender pricing, rate analysis, and commercial summaries.
• Maintain records of steel rates, fabrication costs, and historical data.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 3–7 years experience in steel structure estimation.
• Strong knowledge of structural steel materials, grades, and fabrication processes.
• Experience in estimating steel fabrication and erection works is mandatory.
• Familiar with UAE / GCC market rates (preferred).
