Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage children in a variety of fun, age-appropriate activities including arts and crafts, sports, theater, and outdoor play.
• Maintain a safe environment by implementing proper behavior management techniques and adhering to safety protocols.
• Assist with classroom management and support children with special educational needs to promote inclusive participation.
• Provide first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any health or safety concerns.
• Support early childhood development by encouraging social skills, independence, and positive interactions among campers.
• Collaborate with fellow counselors to plan daily schedules and ensure smooth transitions between activities.
• Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding their child's progress or any concerns that arise during camp hours.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, babysitting, or camp programs is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies.
• Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not already certified.
• Strong classroom management skills combined with patience, creativity, and enthusiasm.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team while demonstrating leadership qualities.
• Experience with special education or working with children with diverse needs is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
