SUMMER CAMP COUNSELORS - STEAM - Creve Coeur

Haven't settled on summer work plans yet? Here's a great idea! Consider joining the summer staff at Andrews Academy. Summer Program counselors have the opportunity to guide and assist campers as they explore a wide range of S.T.E.A.M. (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) focused experiences. From ancient civilizations to future exploration, engineering to architecture, performing arts to sports and recreation; Andrews Academy Summer Program allows campers and counselors alike to investigate many unique and engaging topics.

Andrews Academy is looking for energetic, committed camp counselors to fill roles as:

Grade Level Counselors: Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, 4th Grade, 5th Grade, 6th Grade

S.T.E.A.M Co-Leads: Science (Chemistry / Forensics), Aviation & Navigation, Sports / Physical Education, Engineering and Design, Art Studio, Robotics

Our 10-week summer program runs Monday through Friday from June 1 - August 7 with staff orientation from Tuesday, May 26 to Friday, May 29.

Camp hours are from 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. allowing for shift flexibility. Preferred shifts are 8 hours in length. Administration strives to meet time off requests for all staff members.

Ideal candidates should have experience and/or interest in working with children, interest in one or more S.T.E.A.M. areas, and a willingness to participate alongside our campers. Candidates must be able to maintain a positive attitude throughout all experiences.

All applicants must be at least18 years old by June 1, 2026!

Responsibilities

  • Expectations - Be an example with high character and integrity, modeling appropriate behavior and adhere to expectations
  • Direct Instruction - Lead STEAM based activities (teach skills and techniques) with clear expectations
  • Safety - Establish and maintain a safe, age appropriate and nurturing environment with expectations and norms set in place.
  • Skill Development - Help campers develop new abilities, confidence, and teamwork through structured and unstructured play.
  • Mentorship & Guidance - Provide emotional support, resolve conflicts, and guide campers' social development, acting as informal educators.
  • Activity Planning - Organize and run daily schedules; ensuring age appropriate and engaging experiences.

Requirements

  • Experience in teaching, tutoring, babysitting, or elementary school settings is preferred.
  • Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to educate and inspire children.
  • Ability to manage groups effectively while maintaining a fun atmosphere.
  • Must be positive, patient, and possess excellent communication skills.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for all campers and counselors.
