Summer Camp Instructor

Join our vibrant summer camp team as a Summer Camp Instructor and ignite the spirit of adventure, learning, and growth in children of all ages! Duties

  • Lead and facilitate a variety of camp activities including sports, arts and crafts, theater, and outdoor adventures to ensure all children are actively engaged and having fun
  • Maintain a safe environment by implementing proper behavior management techniques and supervising children at all times
  • Provide first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any health or safety concerns following established protocols
  • Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance by adapting activities and providing personalized attention
  • Foster positive relationships with campers through encouragement, active listening, and Christian counseling principles when appropriate
  • Manage classroom or activity space effectively, ensuring materials are organized and activities run smoothly
  • Collaborate with fellow staff members to plan daily schedules, troubleshoot challenges, and create an inclusive atmosphere that promotes teamwork

Experience

  • Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, babysitting, or camp environments is highly desirable
  • Strong skills in classroom management, behavior management, and childhood development are essential for creating a nurturing space
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles and special education strategies will enhance your ability to support diverse learners
  • Certifications in first aid and CPR are preferred; willingness to obtain these certifications is required before the start of the camp season
  • Experience in sports coaching, theater arts, or childcare roles will contribute to your success in leading engaging activities
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children of various ages and backgrounds while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Passion for teaching, mentoring, and fostering a supportive environment aligned with our values of kindness and growth
