Summer instructors may also have opportunities to continue teaching with us in the fall season based on performance and availability.

Duties

• Plan and deliver engaging chess lessons tailored to different age groups and skill levels, ensuring clarity and enjoyment.
• Manage classroom activities effectively, maintaining a positive, inclusive atmosphere that promotes active participation.
• Guide students to enhance their understanding of chess strategies and rules.
• Foster a supportive environment for learners of all backgrounds
• Communicate clearly with students, parents, and staff about progress, challenges, and upcoming activities.
• Organize friendly tournaments or competitions to motivate students and showcase their progress.
• Maintain classroom organization, ensure safety protocols are followed, and provide feedback for program improvement.

Experience

• Prior experience teaching or tutoring children or adults in an educational setting is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills to effectively convey chess concepts in an understandable manner.
• Knowledge of chess rules, strategies, and teaching methods suitable for various skill levels.
