System Control Engineer (Special Expert)

Job Summary

We are seeking highly experienced System Control Engineers (Special Experts) to manage and oversee the safety, reliability, and security of electricity generation, transmission, and distribution networks within the National Control Center.

The role requires strong leadership capability in handling normal and emergency network operations within Qatar’s electricity sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and ensure safe, reliable, and secure operation of electricity generation, transmission, and distribution networks.
• Supervise operations of the National Control Center and Doha Grid Control Center.
• Ensure safety and operational coordination of the GCC Interconnection with Qatar Network.
• Oversee continuity of power supply to industrial and domestic consumers.
• Lead emergency response operations and develop proactive blackout and dispatch procedures.
• Ensure compliance with Kahramaa operational policies and standards.
• Supervise repair works and operational activities across the electricity network.
• Provide technical recommendations to enhance system performance.
• Prepare technical and statistical performance reports for management review.

Qualification Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering from a reputed university.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 25+ years of experience in a similar electric utility.
• At least 15+ years in a supervisory role, preferably in electricity control systems.
• Experience in the Qatar electricity sector is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of international standards and hands-on experience with Kahramaa standards, operating procedures, and practices.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong leadership and decision-making skills during normal and emergency network operations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Fluent in English (Arabic is an advantage).
• Computer literate with strong presentation skills.
