The IT Systems Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and assistance to end-users. This includes troubleshooting hardware and software issues, resolving network problems, and assisting with the installation and maintenance of IT systems. The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, a strong understanding of IT infrastructure, and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
- Provide first-line support to end-users experiencing technical issues with hardware, software, and networking.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues remotely.
- Document and track issues in the ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution.
- Assist in the deployment of new software and hardware, including setting up new user accounts and equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and updates on all IT systems.
- Monitor and maintain network systems, including troubleshooting connectivity issues.
- Assist with the setup and configuration of network devices (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls).
- Collaborate with network administrators to ensure optimal network performance.
- Provide training and support to end-users on various IT systems and software.
- Develop and maintain documentation for IT processes, procedures, and user guides.
- Stay updated with the latest IT developments and provide recommendations for technology improvements.
- Work closely with other IT team members to resolve complex issues
- Escalate complex issues to Level 2/3 support teams while documenting all incidents and resolutions in the IT service management tool.
Desired Profile
- Education: Masters degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or equivalent are preferred.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in an aggressive IT Infrastructure environment with challenges to dela on every day basis
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Windows and macOS operating systems.
- Assist with user account management, password resets, and access permissions in systems like Microsoft Office 365, email servers, and custom environmental tracking software.
- Install, configure, and maintain standard software applications, ensuring compliance with security protocols relevant to UAE regulations (e.g., DESC, NESA).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and other common business software.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Manage and support virtualized environments, including VMware, Hyper-V, or similar technologies.
- Assist in maintenance of virtual machines and virtual networks.
- Troubleshoot issues related to virtualization and ensure optimal performance of virtualized resources.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as software updates, virus scans, and hardware inventory checks.
- Familiarization with the use of backup softwares like Commvault, VeeAm
- Must have worked in Visio or AutoCAD
- Knowledge of ITSM processes and tools (JIRA, ServiceDesk, ServiceNow, HaloITSM etc)
