Position Summary
HPF Consultants is seeking a dynamic Talent Acquisition & HR Generalist to support our Houston operations. This role is responsible for recruiting top engineering, drafting, and professional talent while providing day-to-day HR support to employees and managers. The position requires a balance of hiring expertise and generalist skills to ensure compliance, employee engagement, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute to HPF’s reputation as a trusted leader in engineering and design services.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition (50%)
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for technical, engineering, and administrative positions in Houston and other Texas offices.
- Partner with department managers to forecast staffing needs and develop job descriptions.
- Source candidates through job boards, social media, industry networks, and employee referrals.
- Screen applicants, coordinate interviews, and guide managers in candidate evaluation.
- Oversee background checks, offer letters, and onboarding documentation.
- Track recruitment metrics and maintain the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
HR Generalist (50%)
- Serve as the first point of contact for Houston employees regarding HR policies, payroll, and benefits.
- Administer new hire onboarding and orientation, including probationary reviews.
- Ensure compliance with federal and Texas labor laws, maintaining accurate employee records.
- Support benefits enrollment, annual renewals, and employee communications.
- Provide managers with guidance on performance management and employee relations.
- Assist with safety and compliance initiatives in coordination with leadership.
- Contribute to employee engagement activities and company culture initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of HR or recruitment experience, preferably in engineering, energy, or industrial services.
- Knowledge of HR practices, compliance requirements, and Texas labor laws.
- Experience using HRIS/ATS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to build trust at all levels.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Demonstrated discretion and ability to handle confidential matters.
