Tax Accountant

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tax regulations and accounting principles, with the ability to provide expert advice on various financial matters. This role involves client interaction, monthly bookkeeping, preparing tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and assisting clients with financial reporting and general business financial matters.

Duties

• Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Conduct thorough reviews of monthly financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.
• Interpret financial reports to help clients make informed decisions regarding their finances.
• Maintain accurate general ledger accounting records for clients.
• Write detailed summaries of monthly findings and recommendations for clients.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to provide the best advice to clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Tax Accountant or in a similar role within the financial services industry.
• Knowledge of payroll processes, accrual accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills for effective client interaction.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently as well as in supervisory role.
• CPA or EA equivalent experience is preferred.
