Tax Associate

Atton Accounting & Consulting is a Dubai-based firm providing professional accounting, tax, and business consulting services across the UAE — spanning bookkeeping, company formation, tax compliance, and corporate services. Atton Institute, a professional licensed training institute in the UAE, is part of the group. We support a broad client portfolio across Corporate Tax, VAT, Transfer Pricing, IFRS reporting, and audit.

Role Summary

The Tax Associate works directly under the firm’s Tax & Compliance lead, providing hands-on support across the tax and compliance function. The role focuses on the preparation, documentation, follow-up, and database work that underpins the department, enabling senior staff to concentrate on review, advisory, and team leadership. It offers broad exposure across UAE tax and compliance and direct mentorship from a senior tax professional.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare Corporate Tax and VAT returns, computations, reports, and filings
  • Ensure compliance with UAE Corporate Tax Law, FTA regulations, and related guidance across the client portfolio
  • Provide support in tax advisory and client consultations
  • Prepare tax advisory reports, technical opinions, and tax health-check working papers, including Qualifying Free Zone Person (QFZP) assessments
  • Assist in resolving escalations and complex tax matters
  • Manage UAE Corporate Tax and VAT registrations, deregistrations, and FTA portal amendments in line with regulatory requirements
  • Maintain the FTA portal amendments database, ensuring amendments are logged accurately and resolved on a timely basis
  • Monitor filing deadlines and tax payment obligations, maintaining accurate payment-tracking records across the client portfolio
  • Oversee Tax Residency Certificate (TRC) applications and Permanent Establishment, Place of Effective Management (POEM), and Double Taxation Agreement analyses
  • Monitor UAE tax legislation, FTA guidance, Cabinet Decisions, and IFRS developments, and implement required changes internally
  • Guide and support the execution team on active client engagements
  • Coordinate with VAT, accounting, and audit teams on tax-related matters

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce; part-qualified or pursuing ACCA / CA / CMA / CPA is an advantage
  • At least 1 year of experience in UAE Tax, Corporate Tax, and VAT
  • Working knowledge of UAE Corporate Tax, VAT, and the FTA portal
  • Familiarity with IFRS
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and follow-up discipline
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Ability to manage deadlines and handle confidential client information with discretion
