About the Job

An opportunity has risen at Saadiyat Beach Club for a Team Leader, Engineering . The position is responsible for overseeing, monitoring the operation, maintenance, and repair of the plant & equipment. Ensure that the approved standards are met to achieve optimum operating efficiency of equipment at all times

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Organizing and assigning work to the staff under him.
• To carry out and follow up all maintenance, repairs, new construction work and general supervision of technical and operation in the property.
• Ensure that all maintenance, repairs, and new construction work is carried out as required by the maintenance work orders.
• Carry out periodic maintenance work orders – ensure completion to standard and proper records.
• To ensure efficient operation and proper maintenance of all air-conditioning and Refrigeration equipment installed in the hotel.
• Checking up of climatic controls in public areas of the beach operations. Ensuring temperatures and times are adjusted for business needs and ambient weather.
• To ensure proper operation and maintenance of boiler room.
• To maintain logbooks for all errands carried out.
• To verify inventories of daily consumables and advise order quantities, as required.
• To ensure efficient operation and preventive maintenance of all mechanical equipment in the hotel.
• To supervise key-making and welding operations.
• To ensure that all maintenance orders will be done completely or to conduct with his fellow shift engineer to finish them.
• General supervision over the staff duty roster.
• To follow the preventive maintenance chart strictly and to maintain records for future reference.
• To coordinate with other departments’ counterparts, to ensure their satisfaction with quality & progress and to create healthy relationships between inter-departments.
• To create on-the-job training among Engineering staff and create opportunities for them to be able to handle a limited scale.
• To be aware of the emergency procedure in the beach operations and know what to do in case of fire.
• To abide by the rules of the beach operations and act as a good example.
• To come up with suggestion that may help to improve the maintenance.

Have what it takes to join our team?

The ideal candidate for this position will display the following attributes:

• Diploma/ITI in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical,)
• Minimum 3 to 5+ years of hands-on engineering Maintenance experience (varies by industry)
• Ability to review designs, code, calculations, or systems critically.
• Exposure to planning, implementation, and supervision of Engineering related projects.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules (i.e. Lockout Tag out, JSA’s), safety awareness information (such as MSDS), operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports, keep logs and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively with colleagues and guests.
• Light vehicle Driving license is an advantage.
