Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled Technical Support Engineer to provide end-to-end support for software and hardware solutions. The role involves installation, troubleshooting, onsite support, system implementation, and customer training. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth system operations and deliver excellent technical service to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain POS software and hardware systems
- Provide onsite and remote technical support to customers
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and system issues
- Handle installation of POS terminals, printers, scanners, cash drawers, and displays
- Configure operating systems, drivers, and peripheral devices
- Implement new systems and assist with customer onboarding
- Conduct customer training on system usage, reports, and daily operations
- Perform system upgrades, patches, and backups
- Monitor system performance and prevent recurring issues
- Maintain service reports, documentation, and customer records
- Coordinate with development and technical teams for advanced issues
- Provide emergency and after-hours support when required
- Ensure compliance with company technical and security standards
Technical Skills & Requirements
- Strong knowledge of POS terminals, touchscreen systems, and workstations
- Proficiency in Windows OS installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Ability to perform full system implementation from setup to go-live
- Staff training on both hardware and software
- Creating user manuals and training materials
- Providing post-implementation support and follow-ups
- Configuration of LAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN connections
- Troubleshooting internet and network connectivity issues
- Experience with POS software installation, activation, and configuration
- Knowledge of database management (MySQL / SQL Server basics preferred)
- Understanding of backup, restore, and data recovery procedures
- Experience with cloud-based and web-based POS systems
- Driver installation (OPOS, USB/Ethernet printers)
- Experience with thermal printers, barcode scanners, cash drawers, customer displays, and weighing scales
- Ability to troubleshoot motherboard, RAM, HDD/SSD, power supply, and peripheral issues
- Knowledge of BIOS/UEFI configuration and firmware updates
- Cabling, wiring, and network setup (LAN/WAN, routers, switches)

Educational Qualifications
- Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Electronics, or related field
- Technical certifications (IT Support, Networking, Hardware) are an advantage
- Minimum 1–3 years experience in POS / IT support (preferred)
Driving License
Valid UAE driving license ( mandatory)
